THE CHALLENGE:
To transport four serviceable CFM56 aero engines from USA’s east coast to the United Kingdom. The engines were urgently required for an aircraft re-entering operational service. With a tight slot in the maintenance hangar and penalties for late delivery looming, the pressure was on from the off.
THE SOLUTION:
On the same day, we collected the engines on an air-ride suspension truck and despite the limited main-deck capacity, we leveraged our market position to transport all four engines on a Boeing 747 Freighter direct to the UK. All customs formalities were cleared prior to departure, whilst trucks were ready on arrival to transport the engines direct to the maintenance hangar. Our staff members were on site at each destination so that our client’s multi-million dollar assets could be handled with the highest level of consideration and care, relinquishing all risks of damage and delay.
THE RESULT:
Safe delivery of the engines in the UK, on budget and within 48 hours from the initial request.
